5 years U.S. 30% Club and preview of ‘This Changes Everything’ – Anouk Pappers

Attending the 5 year anniversary of the U.S. 30% Club at the Bloomberg office in Manhattan. After opening words by Peter Grauer, Chairman Bloomberg, we saw a preview of the documentary “This Changes Everything”, directed by Tom Donahue.

The preview was followed by an interesting conversation on stage about the call to action on elevating women’s roles in film and television both on and off screen. Because of the overall presence of media in everyone’s lives, and people from all ages, this will have an impact on multiple levels in society.

The U.S. 30% Club launched in June 2014 with a goal of achieving 30% female directors on S&P 100 boards by 2020. Today, 27.7% of S&P 100 directors are women, up from 20.2% at launch. Additionally, all S&P 100 boards have at least one female director. Even more encouraging, the US membership has achieved an average of 30% women on their boards, up from 21.7% when it launched – a testament to what business leaders are able to achieve when they commit to driving change.

While the S&P 100 is on track to achieve the 30% target by 2020, there is still much work to be done in boardrooms across the country, with S&P 500 numbers moving at a glacial pace.

Make sure to tune in July 22nd to watch the documentary, it will be screened all over the US on that date.
